Anyone else having trouble logging in/commenting on the main G/O sites this morning?

[Fixed - had to completely pause Ghostery, not just trust site. ] No issue here on OPPO. My account is an old-school burner account, fwiw. Related: can’t believe we haven’t starting seeing more Bombas ads...

I post this a lot, but check if your browser or ad blocker is blocking third-party cookies. That will causer logins not to work on the main sites (which are third-party to kinja.com, but not oppositelock, which is first-party).

I’m surprised how many people use burner accounts.

I’d gone through first thing and hit “trust site” on all my blockers, but I just now actually paused Ghostery completely and that did it . They must’ve changed something last night because I wasn’t having the issue yesterday. Thanks!

I’ve never been a fan of using 3rd party credentials (Google/Facebook/Twitter) to log into any site. A personal privacy thing. I just don’t do it.

Bombas makes very nice socks.

Something changed last night and Ghostery was keeping the credentials from getting through.

That’s fair, I’d rather not lose an account, so if I was worried about that, I would make a burner gmail.

I run into this a lot with Ghostery. Just what it does. Although, for me, trusting the sites and not disabling Ghostery seems to work fine, at least on the main pages. Lately , though, Kinja and Firefox aren’t playing nice at all so I have to use Safari.

Just following up - the last couple days, I had to pause Ghostery to get logged in to Jalopnik. Today, it’s still active , but lets me through. Weird.

As of yesterday I have to login for every page I navigate to. Even if it’s clicking a story on a front page and it doesn’t take to a random sub-blog (previously, this was the only time my sign in didn’t carry over) . Haven’t checked to see if it’s Ghostery or Firefox,  I’m just using Safari now.

I’m on Chrome on Windows 7. AdBlock Pro running, Privacy Badger running, Ghostery running (site trusted).

Firefox 66.0.3 on MacOS Mojave, AdBlock Pro and Ghostery (GMG sites are trusted). I’m inclined to think I need to tweak a few things in Ghostery, but since (I think) Firefox and Kinja haven’t been cooperating with each other for me lately, I’ll just stick with Safari until I get around to messing with it. Who knows though, Apple has made Safari much better as of late so maybe I’ll keep using it.
